RADIO HIRAKHAND

With permission received from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India our organization has set-up a Community Radio Station in Sakhipara, Sambalpur. The station is named as Radio Hirakhand and can be tuned at 90.8 FM. It is now broadcasting contents that are popular and relevant to local and specific audience. The station is exclusively operated, owned and influenced by the communities they serve. The programmes are based on different themes like livelihood and skill development, education and learning, health and nutrition, agriculture, human rights, good governance, environment and climate change, disaster management, science popularization, folk entertainment etc. Our radio signal is crystal clear and people living in Sambalpur city and some part of Dhankauda, Maneswar and Jujumura blocks are listening to it. Alati, Jeevan Rekha, Chasa Basa, Hirakhandra Hira, Echir Michir, Ajira Kunuhan, Sambalpuri Kanhar etc. are some of our popular programmes. With support from MoRTH, IMAGE, UNICEF, Young India, IIEC, IGSSS, SMART, CRA we have implemented many radio campaigns on road safety, farmer’s welfare, adolescent and youth empowerment, social security of urban poor, COVID-19 etc. The station got an award for promotion of Sambalpuri language and culture in the year 2020. In a special function of Sambalpuri Bhasa Sanskruti Parisad, Shri Jay Narayan Mishra, MLA, Sambalpur presented us the award. [https://www.radiohirakhand.org]
